As of November 23rd, 2010, the Tim Hortans franchise will now accept debit cards at most locations. In the article they mentioned that tims now accepting debit will not cause any slow downs, when they are purchasing their products and it will also not effect customer security. The interac president and CEO Mark O'Connell said, "With Tim Hortons' expansion of Interac debit acceptance, customers will no longer need to worry if they have cash in-pocket when they buy their morning coffee, breakfast wraps for the kids after hockey practice or doughnuts for the office," Interac president and CEO Mark O'Connell.
