Teacher Tried ban pencils in school

A teacher in Massachusetts by the name of Wendy Scott, a teacher at North Brookfield Elementary school tried to ban pencils and pens in her classroom, to me this absolute nonsense, students need pencils/pens to do their classwork. The Massachusetts school board is distancing itself from this teacher because she never got permission from the board to enforce this rule and the school board thinks this is a ridiculous demand as well. The teacher mentioned to the reporter that as a kid she used to respect her pencils, pens and pencil cases, but her students are using these items to make weapons.

The teacher sent the following memo to all the parents of students in her class; Students would no longer be allowed to bring writing implements to school. It said pencils would be provided for students in class and any students caught with pencils or pens after Nov. 15 would face disciplinary action for having materials "to build weapons."
